Cache Valley Access Management

INCREASING CAPACITY OF ROADS, MANAGING CONGESTIONS, REDUCING CRASHES, AND SAVING TAX PAYER'S MONEY

What is Access Management? Cache Valley does not have a interstate freeway. Higher capacity state roads are critical to the transportation system for the movement of both people and freight. Access management is a management program by which access to land development is provided while preserving the flow of traffic in terms of safety capacity and speed.

Program Background: By managing roadway access, government agencies can increase public safety, extend the life of major roadways, reduce traffic congestion, support alternative transportation modes, and even improve the appearance and quality of the built environment.

Who must attend?  Anyone seeking a new access to a state highway in Cache County as well as property owners with existing access where a change of landuse will result in a 20% or greater increase in vehicle trips. Cache Access Management Coordination meetings are held the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of every month. Access Management Pre-applications with supporting documentation are due to the Cache County Development Services office by 5:00 PM the Friday before the meeting.
